- [Course 0001: Certified Fiber Optics Training Bundle](https://ce.northgatech.edu/search/publicCourseSearchDetails.do?method=load&courseId=1022105): Following the successful completion of this one-week training series, you will gain certifications in three Fiber Optics Specialist areas:  Certified Fiber Optics Basic Training (CFOT)  The student will find that the Basic CFOT course offers a real-world approach to fiber network understanding. This fiber optics training course is a recommended prerequisite. Certified Fiber Optics Splicing Specialist (CFOS/S)  This specialist program focuses on mechanical and fusion splicing of fiber optics networks. The student will be expected to build their own fiber network using a variety of mechanical and fusion splicing techniques. Certified Fiber Optics Specialist in Testing and Maintenance (CFOS/T)  This specialist program focuses on the testing and maintenance of single-mode networks. With emphasis on the OLTS and OTDR, this course presents extreme, real-world challenges.

The course covers advanced functions and formulas, data analysis with pivot tables and charts, conditional formatting, data validation, and working with large datasets. 
- [Course 0007: Driver's Education Course](https://ce.northgatech.edu/search/publicCourseSearchDetails.do?method=load&courseId=1024263): Driver's Education Instructions to Register Step 1 (optional): Apply for the grant scholarship The Georgia Driver’s Education Commission offers the Georgia Driver’s Education Grant Scholarship Program to offer driver’s education to Georgia students. The grant scholarship program is open to Georgia residents ages fifteen through seventeen who wish to satisfy the Joshua’s Law driver’s education requirement by completing thirty hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel driving instruction with an approved instructor. Step 1: Apply for the scholarship. Step 2:   Wait  until you receive a redemption code via email before registering for a course.  Step 3: Once a scholarship is awarded, forward the email from GDEC to NGTC Driver's Ed coordinator: drivesafe@northgatech.edu Apply for the Scholarship Step Two: Submit registration paperwork by the deadline 1) Download the contract packet, complete and save. You will upload this with your online registration.  Contract Packet Guidelines Form 2) Register online here and choose the course dates you prefer. During registration, you will upload your completed packet and copy of valid learner's permit. Required Documentation: Completed registration packet Color photo/copy of valid learner's permit Course fee of $400 payable by credit/debit card, check or scholarship voucher Step Three: Attend the classroom instruction portion Please upload the signed contract forms during the registration process or bring them to the first day of class.  The classroom portion consists of 30 hours of instruction, with a final exam at the end of the class. You should pass this portion to move on to the driving instruction. Step Four: Behind-the-wheel driving instruction The final step is to drive! Please practice driving at least 10 hours with your student to get the most out of the behind-the-wheel driving sessions.  Scheduling information will be sent to you after the final day of the classroom instruction.   Additional information: This Driver's Education course is designed to equip new drivers with the essential skills and knowledge for safe and responsible driving. It includes 30 hours of in-class comprehensive lessons on road rules, and defensive driving techniques, and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel practical driving experience. Completing this course will fulfill the requirements of Joshua's Law, helping young drivers meet the mandatory training needed for obtaining their driver's licenses. We offer classes at all three NGTC campuses in Blairsville, Clarkesville,  and Currahee. The course fee is $400.00 and includes 30 hours of classroom instruction as well as 6 hours of one-on-one drive time with an instructor. Please read the following information before registering for your preferred class. Students must attend all class sessions Students must complete a total of  6 hours  of behind-the-wheel training. Prior driving experience is required in order for the student to receive the maximum benefit from the sessions. In-class training will meet from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with breaks and a 30-minute lunch. Space is limited for sessions, and classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis A Valid Georgia learner's permit is  required  to participate; no exceptions. - [Course 0014: TEAS Exam](https://ce.northgatech.edu/search/publicCourseSearchDetails.do?method=load&courseId=1027211): The ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills ( ATI TEAS) measures basic essential skills in the academic content area domains of reading, math, science, and English and language usage. The test is intended for use primarily with adult health science program applicant populations. The objectives assessed on ATI TEAS are those which health educators deemed most appropriate and relevant to measure entry-level academic readiness of health science program applicants. The format is Multiple-choice, multiple-select, fill-in-the-blank numeric, hot spot & ordered response.  Registration begins at 7:45 AM. Doors will close promptly at 8:00 AM. - [Course 0028: Georgia Real Estate Pre-License Course](https://ce.northgatech.edu/search/publicCourseSearchDetails.do?method=load&courseId=1038437): This in-person Georgia Real Estate Pre-License Course has everything needed to satisfy Georgians state education requirement for a real estate salesperson to qualify to take the state licensing exam. You’ll receive 75 credit hours and become best prepared to continue with your career in real estate. The class will run on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m. The textbook is included in the price of the course. You’re in-person instructors, will cover topics such as: recognizing problems to avoid when completing contracts; calculating the purchase price of the property; describing the method of payment, including loan financing contingencies; locating and entering the legal description of the property; presenting offers and counteroffers, handling earnest money, preparing special stipulations, and processing residential leases.

Canvas, brushes, paints, and step-by-step instructions are provided. You supply your sense of adventure, creativity, and imagination.  This class is led by Christy Wilcox of The Creative Canvas, she has over 25 years of teaching experience and teaches with a positive, upbeat attitude- no stress, just fun! Even if you’ve never held a paintbrush, your class instructor will help you leave the party with your very own masterpiece and a renewed sense of creativity. - [Course 0030: Handgun Safety Course](https://ce.northgatech.edu/search/publicCourseSearchDetails.do?method=load&courseId=1052482): The class will consist of 2 days of training. Day 1 will be in a classroom and Day 2 will be on the firing range.  Day 1- Classroom instruction, will cover important safety rules for firearm handling. The laws pertaining to when and where a person can carry a weapon will be included. Students will participate in practical demonstrations in the classroom. Day 2- Target Shooting Instruction will take place at the Rabun County Firing Range for Instruction. All range rules and live fire exercises will be covered. The instructor will teach proper sight alignment, stance, breathing, grip and trigger pull. Anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult. Waivers will be provided for participants to sign prior to the live fire exercise. The instructor, Mark Gerrells, has been a police trainer for over 30 years specializing in firearms, SWAT and sniper instruction and is the current Rabun County Sherriff.

This 4 our session will assist you in meeting the state's requirements to maintain your license. Once you complete the class, you will be provided with a certificate of completion for your records.  The class will cover one or more of the following categories so that licensees can obtain the required hours of continuing education for the two-year renewal period.   The categories are:   1.
